The joy we witness is palpable, Songs & Smiles joyfully echoing through the care homes we work with and resonating in the intergenerational art exchange program, Crafting Connections, which holds a special place in my heart as my children actively participate. Every month, they eagerly anticipate the arrival of a big brown envelope from Rosie, a resident in a care home. As the envelope is torn open, the excitement is contagious. What follows is a beautiful exchange of art and stories, bridging the gap between generations.
Through this exchange, my children not only receive delightful creations from Rosie but also embark on meaningful conversations about her life experiences. They gain insights into the realities of living in a care home, fostering empathy and understanding.
